Kentucky Lake Multi-Use Path Opens
On December 29th, 2016 the Kentucky Lake multi-use path opened to the public with a Inagural Hike. About 20 participants braved cold temps and 15 mph winds to walk from Kenlake State Park at Aurora to the Fenton Access Area in Land Between The Lakes. The multi-use trail interconnects with trails in Land Between The Lakes. It will also connect with a trail across the New Lake Barkley Bridge at Canton, still under construction. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet anticipates holding an official Grand Opening as a joint venture with regional and state tourism organizations sometime in March or April as warmer weather allows. There is parking with access to the new trail at Kenlake State Park and on the Land Between The Lakes side of Kentucky Lake.

Traffic Moved to New Bridge
On April 8, 2016, the Johnson Bros. Corporation's team moved all traffic from the existing Eggner’s Ferry bridge over KY Lake onto the new arch bridge. One lane in each direction is currently provided using the north half of the bridge, but this provides a significantly wider and safer crossing for motorists. This will allow demolition of the old bridge. Construction work will continue to prepare the full 4 lanes plus multi-use path across KY Lake.
Arch Lifted into Place
On Dec. 1, 2015 the Johnson Bros Corp. team moved the steel arch span onto the new piers.
